shows and opportunities
for members to exhibit their work. There will be a variety of
venues and interesting themes which members can select from.
Unless otherwise stated; the Art League will retain 20%
commission for items sold at members shows.

ELIGIBILITY Artists age 18 or older may submit two works.

Non-Volunteering LKN Art League members: $30 - 1 entry, $40 - 2 entries
Non-members: $40 - 1 entry, $50 - 2 entries

LIMITATIONS
- All work must be appropriately framed and securely wired to hang. No saw tooth hangers may be used.
- Work must be original, not created in a class or workshop, been created since April 2006, and not have been exhibited in any previous LKN Art League exhibit.
- The decision to reject any work will be at the sole discretion of the Town of Cornelius or the exhibit judge.
LIABILITY The utmost care will be used in handling all work. The Town of Cornelius will insure exhibit works during the time they are on the Town's premises for the exhibit period. Your listed sale price will be the insured value. If NFS, estimate of value must be listed on the entry form for work to be covered. The Lake Norman Art League will not be responsible for any damage to artwork on display.

on Friday, April 11, 2008, between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. Please complete entry form, bring check or cash for payment, and attach labels before arriving.
RECEPTION
Awards will be announced at a reception held on Saturday, April 12, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Award ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Sponsored in part by Trader Joe's. Part of April is for the Arts and the Cornelius / Davidson Gallery Crawl featuring FREE Trolley Rides.
EXHIBIT HOURS
The exhibit will be open during Cornelius Town Hall's regular business hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
PICK-UP DATE
Retrieve your work on Monday, April 28, 2008, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
SALES
Sales are encouraged, but not required. Lake Norman Art League will retain a commission of 20% from League members, 30% from non-members.

SPRING EXHIBIT March 31 - April 28, 2007
LOCATION: Lake Norman Art League Exhibition Space: 108 South
Main Street, Davidson, NC – across from The Green and library in
downtown Davidson.
AWARDS: For overall show - Best of Show ($250), 2nd Place
($125), 3rd Place ($75) By medium in three categories: 1) Best
of Oil/Acrylic/Egg Tempura/Mixed Media ($50); 2) Best of
Watercolor/Pastel/Pencil/Photography ($50); and 3) Best of All
3D ($50). Judges may award Honorable Mentions in each category
as they deem appropriate.
JUDGES: Elizabeth Ross (www.elizabethrossart.com) and Jon
Hair (www.jonhair.com). In addition to judging the exhibit as
listed above, each judge will select one piece to be published
in postcard format. Other pieces will be selected for
publication by qualified community members.

Knox Ave, Mooresville, NC. All LKN Art League members

Our Juror is Missie Dickens -
Missie studied art at Le
Studio de Madam Chabanier and L’Universite’ de Paul Valery in
Montpellier, France and at the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill where she graduated with a BS in Nursing. She works
weekends as a neurosurgery-trauma intensive care nurse. Her
work has been exhibited extensively in museums and invitationals
throughout the US and internationally with La Romita teachers in
Terni, Umbria, Italy. Missie is a signature member of six
national watercolor societies: Watercolor USA Honor Society,
Southern Watercolor Society, Kentucky Watercolor Society,
National Watercolor Oklahoma, Transparent Watercolor Society of
America, and Rocky Mountain National Watercolor Society. Her
paintings have been featured in several art magazines including
The Artists’ Magazine, Watercolor Magic edition,
in the article titled “The 25 Best Watermedia Paintings of
2000” and are published in Splash 5:The Glory of Color
and Best of Flower Painting Volume 2 by North Light
Books. She is a past president of the Watercolor Society of
North Carolina and is the current President of Watercolor USA
Honor Society.
Commission is 20% and will be donated to
the YMCA.
$1000.00 in cash awards. Categories
include Landscape, Still Life/Floral, Figurative/Portrait,
Animals/Wildlife, Abstract, 3 D, Best of Show.

The Depot Visual Arts Center in Mooresville
- Featuring works of members of the Mooresville Artist Guild and the Lake
Norman Art League. A reception to meet the artists will be held
during the Gallery Crawl on Friday, April 1 from 6 to 8 pm. The
public is invited, and there is no charge for the event.
Take in will be 3/23 and 3/24 from 1-4 pm. Works can be
picked up on 4/19 and 4/20 from 1-4pm. The

and March 2005 - Cotton Mill
Davidson - Bring your work to the Cotton Mill, 209
Delburg Street, Davidson. Take in day will be Wednesday
Feb. 9th from 11:30 AM to 1:30 pm. Opening night will be
Friday February 11, from 7:00 - 9:00. There is plenty of
space so bring more than one if you like! Please be sure
that your work has a wire hanger on the back. If it is a
watercolor or pastel they must have the appropriate protective
covering. Oil paintings must not have the staples showing.
Please no nudity, and no alcohol will be served at the opening.
This show will be up for nearly two months, the take down is
March 31st from 11:30am - 1:30 pm.
January 7 - 28 -
2005
Huntersville Town Hall
- Kick off the new year with Lake
Norman Art League Member's Show. Opening night is Friday
January 7th from 6pm - 9pm. Light refreshment will be
served. Bring your friends and family to view local
artists creations. The exhibit will continue until January
27th hours are from 8am - 5pm daily.
Members take
in will be on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 beginning at 9:00 AM
and running through noon. As always, if you have any
scheduling conflicts, just let us know and we’ll work around it.
Artwork is picked up on Friday, January 28 before 12noon.
One piece per member, please, and no larger than 24” in any
direction for two-dimensional work. For three dimensional
work, please provide pedestal/case to show your work.
