About our Juror - Laura Alma
McCarthy
Born and raised in Lynchburg VA. She received a BA in History from Davidson College, Davidson, NC in 1994. From 1995 - 95, Laura toured the U.S., Quebec, and Europe for a year with the performance organization, UP With People,
returning the University of North Carolina - Charlotte, Charlotte, NC in 2005.
Laura has participated in
multiple national artist in-residence programs.
These include the VCU Summer Studio Program, The
McColl Center for Visual Art, and the Vermont
Studio Center. Along with residencies,
Laura is actively engaged in showing her work
around the state and at home in Charlotte.
Most recently at ArtSpace in Tryon, NC and
through the Lee Hansley Gallery in Raleigh, NC
at Duke Law School Gallery.
